Woo hoo ! ! Decades of dirt.
Ready for new parts installation.
Original parts on the top stack.
Installing new let off buttons.
New shanks installed.
Sneak peek at the lovely key set. Just returned from Grass Valley renowned piano ivory technician, Yvonne Ashmore. Stunning, as you'll soon see.
New whippens getting installed (I know, funny name for a piano part)
Regulating sample keys in the bass, tenor and treble. If these parts work, all the other parts will too.
Refreshed keys returning home.
Today is Sept 27, 2022 and I returned to the refinisher's shop in Sonora to confirm the action measurements were correct.
They are correct!
The last coat of lacquer has been applied but not yet rubbed out so it looks shiny.

This was the first time I got to hear the tone produced with the new Renner hammers. Sounds like a Steinway!
The hammers are not yet glued onto their shanks so they aren't perfectly aligned and vertical as they soon will be.

The legs are finished in hand-rubbed satin ebony. Going to be real eye candy.
Hammers in the jig getting glued on.
TA DA ! ! !
Your Steinway was delivered to my home on October 5. I'm waiting for a date from the refinisher when the last parts of the piano are to be delivered (fall board, lid and hardware).
Dampers being removed to receive new damper felt.
We're waiting for you.
See you SOON ! !
